The Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation’s 2017 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Nov. 16 at the Madison Club, 5 E. Wilson St., Madison. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 7 p.m.

This year, the WNA Foundation will honor Watertown Daily Times Editor Tom Schultz and former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Editor Marty Kaiser.

Registration and ticket information will be available at a later date.

This year’s Hall of Fame dinner will be a fundraising event for the WNA Foundation, a not-for-profit organization created in 1980 to support programs that foster excellence in journalism, engage current and future newspaper leaders and invest in our communities. The foundation solicits, manages and disburses funds and other resources for the benefit of Wisconsin’s newspaper industry.

The WNA Foundation has honored 47 individuals with the Hall of Fame honor since its inception in 2001. Hall of Fame inductees have contributed above and beyond the call of duty to newspapers and newspapering in Wisconsin.

Schultz has been with the Daily Times for 50 years. He is a former president of the WNA and the Wisconsin Associated Press Editors Association.

Kaiser was the editor of the Journal Sentinel from 1997 to 2015. Under his leadership, the Journal Sentinel won three Pulitzer Prizes. Kaiser was also named Editor & Publisher magazine’s “Editor of the Year” in 2009.
