Attorney General Brad Schimel announced Tuesday the launch of an interactive sex offense data dashboard that offers incident-level details to the public.
The dashboard offers geographic visualizations regarding the number of sexual offenses, offense type and offense rate for Wisconsin counties. The dashboard details the type of weapons used during sexual assaults and the location (home, hotel, etc.) they occurred. Demographic data for victims and offenders — age, sex, race and relationship — is also provided.
Previously, only aggregate-level information for rape offenses and arrests was available, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
The data available on the dashboard is for 2013-2017.
