Paper industry panel to discuss navigating new economy

APPLETON – A panel this month in Appleton will discuss obstacles facing the paper industry and how it’s adapting.

“How the Paper Industry is Navigating the New Economy” will be presented by WisPolitics.com and WisBusiness.com, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Paper Council and Wisconsin Academy of Global Education and Training. The discussion is scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Paper Discovery Center, 425 W. Water St., Appleton.

Members of the panel include Rep. Katrina Shankland, D-Stevens Point; Rep. Dave Murphy, R-Greenville; Prof. Karyn Biasca, chair of the Paper Science and Chemical Engineering Department at UW-Stevens Point; Scott Suder, president of the Wisconsin Paper Council; and Jeff Walch, vice president for container board sales at Green Bay Packaging.
