Wisconsin gubernatorial, Senate debates set for Oct. 19

MADISON – Candidates for governor and U.S. Senate in Wisconsin will debate Oct. 19 in the state’s two biggest cities.

The gubernatorial debate between Republican Gov. Scott Walker and Democrat Tony Evers is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Madison. The debate, sponsored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, was rescheduled from Oct. 5 due to a conflict.

In Milwaukee, Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Republican challenger Leah Vukmir will debate at 7 p.m. in an event sponsored by WISN-TV and Marquette University Law School. Baldwin and Vukmir are expected to meet in three debates, with dates and times to be announced for the other two.

Walker and Evers, the state schools superintendent, are scheduled for a second debate on Oct. 26.
