Glenn Surendonk, a former journalist and avid swimmer and photographer, passed away Sept. 22 at age 86.
Surendonk worked for 30 years at The (Racine) Journal Times, serving as news editor during his tenure. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Purath-Strand Funeral Home, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service to follow at 2 p.m.
Surendonk is survived by his wife, Dianne; son, Daniel Scott; daughter, Kristine (Cory) Owen; sister, Cheryl McCormick; and two granddaughters, Courtney and Kaitlyn Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria Pfost.
