Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council seeking stories, visuals for 40th anniversary celebration

MADISON – The Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council is looking for stories from the last 40 years about the open records and meetings law, as well as the FOIC, that can be used for a presentation at its upcoming anniversary celebration. Submissions should be sent to FOIC Co-Vice President Christa Westerberg by Oct. 23.

The Wisconsin FOIC will celebrate its 40th anniversary Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Wisconsin State Capitol. The event, which starts at 3 p.m. in the Assembly Parlor, will follow the council’s 1 p.m. meeting. It will include speakers, cake and a celebration of open government. Attendees also will have the opportunity to see the unveiling of open government artwork and the council’s new logo.
