Herb Kohl Educational Foundation seeking volunteers

The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation is looking for teachers, administrators, school board members, retired educators, parents, community members and business professionals to read and evaluate public and private school applications for its 2023 Wisconsin student, teacher and principal awards. The Wisconsin Newspaper Association is a longtime sponsor of the program.

Reader scores determine award finalists and ultimately, award recipients. Teacher and principal award recipients will receive $6,000 personal grants and matching $6,000 grants for their schools. High school student award recipients will receive $10,000 in college scholarships.

Volunteers will need access to a computer and the internet and will need to complete a one-hour online training prior to scoring applications. Scoring takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes per application. Applications will be available for scoring from approximately mid-November through mid-December.

Interested volunteers should complete and submit this form by Saturday, Oct. 29.
