WHITEWATER – A former UW-Whitewater assistant football coach shared details about the Warhawks’ defensive strategy with coaches at UW-La Crosse prior to the 2018 season, the La Crosse Tribune reported Sunday.
The email, obtained by the Tribune as part of an open records request, contained eight PowerPoint presentations detailing the Warhawks’ defensive principles, coverage rules and alignments.
The five-times-forwarded email chain started with Craig Smith — a former UW-Whitewater offensive coordinator whose contract wasn’t renewed after the 2017 season, the Tribune reported.
