KENOSHA – United Communications Corp., which last month sold its newspapers to Lee Enterprises, has agreed to sell its television stations in New York and Minnesota, the Kenosha News reported Friday.
UCC will turn the stations over to Gray on March 1, one month after its former newspapers — the Kenosha News and Lake Geneva Regional News — joined Lee.
“Exiting the broadcast industry and communities we have come to love is very difficult,” said Lucy Brown, president of Kenosha-based UCC. “United’s board came to this decision with a heavy heart, but one that looks to the future with great optimism.”
