WHITEHALL – Martin Henschel, brother of former Blair Press publisher Lee Henschel, plans to sell the building that once housed the newspaper, likely ending the publication’s 120-year run.

Henschel’s plans were reported by the (Whitehall) Trempealeau County Times, which last week became the official newspaper of the city of Blair. He told the paper there was “no way I was ever going to figure out how to re-open the business” or even sell it.

Lee Henschel died Jan. 9 at age 62, one week after the newspaper last published on Jan. 2. The Press’ fate has been uncertain ever since.

Press subscribers aren’t likely to see a refund, the Times reports. But Blair and Taylor residents can subscribe to the Times at a discounted rate of just $5.
