GREEN BAY – Two veteran editors, Mark Treinen and Robert Zizzo, have been named to new director-level positions for USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin, the news group announced Tuesday.

Treinen, who joined Gannett in 1994 as a reporter for the Wausau Daily Herald, has been named news director for the network’s 10 newsrooms in central and northeastern Wisconsin. He previously oversaw the group’s four central Wisconsin newsrooms in Marshfield, Wausau, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids.

In his new role, Treinen will be based in Green Bay, where he will succeed Zizzo, editor of the Green Bay Press-Gazette for the last four years. Zizzo, who joined Gannett in 2012, is taking on the newly created position of sports news director for the group.
