Former WNA executive director Peter Fox steps down from college advisor role

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Peter Fox, who served as executive director of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association from 2004 to 2010, has stepped down as advisor of Montana State University’s student newspaper, The Exponent.

Fox, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at UW-Madison. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a part-time copy editor for the Wisconsin State Journal. Fox joined the paper full-time while attending graduate school and worked as a reporter and assistant city editor.

He went on to work at The Billings (Mont.) Gazette as managing editor and The (Racine) Journal Times as editor. He also served as president of the Wisconsin Associated Press Association.

In 2010, Fox moved back to Montana and served as executive director of the Park County Community Foundation, retiring in 2018. He had been an advisor for the Exponent since 2011.
