GREEN BAY – Sammy Gibbons, who graduated last month from UW-Madison, is the Door County Advocate’s newest reporter, the newspaper announced Wednesday.
Gibbons succeeds Liz Welter, who retired in March after spending the last two years with the Advocate. Welter previously was a reporter for the Marshfield News-Herald for 11 years.
While at UW, Gibbons served as editor-in-chief of The Daily Cardinal student newspaper. She also worked as an intern for Madison Magazine and was a radio DJ at WSUM 91.7 FM, the university’s student radio station. Gibbons also served as a panelist at the 2019 WNA Convention & Trade Show.
