GRANTSBURG – After nearly two decades with the newspaper, Glen Skifstad retired from the Burnett County Sentinel last week.
Skifstad worked in a number of roles at the Sentinel, including in the production, delivery and sports departments. He started at the newspaper in 2001 after 21 years as a teacher, including the final 17 in Grantsburg.
Tom Stangl, publisher of the Sentinel, called Skifstad “the ultimate team player.” He also said he expected Skifstad to have another retirement or two still ahead of him.
Skifstad’s plans for his second retirement include woodworking and spending time with his grandkids, the fourth of which is on the way.
