Capital Newspapers adds government reporter Bridget Cooke

BARABOO – Bridget Cooke, a western Wisconsin native, joined the Capital Newspapers staff last week after four years at the Monroe Times.

Cooke will cover city government and local business news for the Baraboo News Republic and Portage Daily Register. In her previous role as city reporter for the Times, she covered the Monroe City Council, Green County board and regional school boards.

After graduating from Gilmanton High School, Cooke earned her bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire. In college, she served as a staff writer for The Spectator student newspaper.

Prior to her time in Monroe, Cooke also spent two years in Osseo working for the Augusta Area Times and Tri-County News.
