New York Times reporter Caitlin Dickerson to be UW journalist in residence

MADISON – Caitlin Dickerson, a national immigration reporter for The New York Times, will serve as the Center for Journalism Ethics Journalist in Residence at UW-Madison this fall.

Dickerson will be on campus during the week of Sept. 23. She also will participate in a public panel on immigration and journalism ethics on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Since joining the Times in 2016, Dickerson has broken news about changes in deportation and detention policy. She also has profiled the lives of immigrants and is a frequent guest on “The Daily” podcast. Prior to joining the Times, Dickerson was an investigative reporter for NPR.

UW-Madison’s Journalist in Residence programs offer the world’s top journalists an opportunity to share their expertise, engage with the community and collaborate with students and faculty. The Center for Journalism Ethics’ Journalist in Residence program brings nationally renowned journalists to campus to promote engagement with UW students and the public.
