EagleHerald adds staff writer John Liesveld

MARINETTE – John Liesveld has joined the (Marinette) EagleHerald as a staff writer.

Liesveld’s primary area of coverage will be the city of Marinette, including government, business, industry, tourism, features and other assignments.

Liesveld, a Wausau native, returns to the state after spending the last few years in Nebraska. He has about 15 years of experience in the journalism industry, including time at the Fremont (Neb.) Tribune daily newspaper, where he worked as a reporter and photographer.

“We are pleased to have someone with John’s experience and talent join our staff,” said Dan Kitkowski, EagleHerald editor. “John has hit the ground running during his first few days on the job. He will be a great addition to our news team.”

Liesveld obtained his bachelor’s degree in communication from UW-Madison. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a crewmember and medical-corpsman aboard the USS Rentz. His hobbies include running, photography, exploring, writing, electronics, computers and scientific exploration.
