Dana Priest, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, will discuss disinformation and democracy during the George F. Kennan Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, Dec. 5, at UW-Milwaukee’s Hefter Conference Center, 3271 N. Lake Drive, Milwaukee.

The Washington Post reporter told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel she will explain how disinformation stated and “how it creeped in with nobody looking, what it means to the country, how it’s now very much a part of the news ecosystem.”

Priest has worked at The Post for 32 years and also teaches journalism classes at the University of Maryland. She won Pulitzer Prizes for reporting on horrific outpatient conditions at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and U.S. government holding terror suspects in secret “black site” prisons.

The lecture, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public.
