Final details for Wisconsin Civics Games regionals

The inaugural Wisconsin Civics Games are almost here! Below you will find some important final details for volunteers, judges, moderators and teams.

Schedule:

9 to 9:45 a.m. ………….. Registration
9:45 to 10 a.m. ………… Welcome
10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. …. Round 1
Noon to 1 p.m. ………… Lunch
1 to 1:45 p.m. ………….. Semifinals
2 p.m. ………………….. Finals

Arrival times:

WNA staff: 8:30 a.m.
Volunteers: 8:45 a.m.
Judges and moderators: 9:15 a.m.
High school teams: 9 to 9:30 a.m.

Here are some additional details by region:

Region 1: UW-Eau Claire, Barron County 

Lunch: Participant lunches will be provided in the Student Center (Building E). 

Civics Games Location:  
Theater and Fine Arts Building (Building C) 
1800 College Drive, Rice Lake 

Ancillary Room: Music Room (Building C) 

Parking: Attendees should park in the West Parking Lot. Parking passes are not required. 

Region 2: UW-Green Bay

Lunch: Participant will be provided lunch vouchers that are redeemable for a sandwich, a drink, and their choice of a salad, a fruit or a cookie. 

Civics Games Location:  
University Union, Christie Theater (1st Floor) 
2420 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay, WI 54311 

Ancillary Rooms: 1965 Room (2nd Floor), Heritage (2nd Floor), World Unity A & B 1st Floor) 

Parking: All guests should park in the Studio Arts, Visitor or Kress Center lots. You are allowed to park on campus five times per year without a permit. Anything beyond 5 visits will require a parking pass from Public Safety.

Region 3: UW-Platteville

Lunch: Lunch will be provided in Platteville Rooms in the Markee Pioneer Student Center, roughly a 3-minute walk from the Center for the Arts. 

Civics Games Location:  
Center for the Arts, Brodbeck Concert Hall 
755 West Main Street, Platteville 

Ancillary Rooms: Teams awaiting competition will be in the Vocal Room adjacent to the Brodbeck Concert Hall stage. 

Parking: Attendees should park in Parking Lot 1, next to the Center for the Arts. No permit it required.

Region 4: UW-Madison

Lunch: Boxed lunches will be served in the Wisconsin Idea Room, with Traditions as the overflow room in which food can be eaten as well.  

Civics Games Location:  
Union South, Varsity Hall (Level 2) 
1308 W Dayton Street

Ancillary Rooms: Traditions and Wisconsin Idea (Level 2) 

Parking: The closest parking lot is the Union South Garage (Lot 80) on West Dayton Street, between Randall Avenue and North Orchard Street. This is a pay lot. Find additional parking options here.  

Region 5: UW-Milwaukee*

*Canceled
Unfortunately, due to conflicts for several teams in the Milwaukee area, the regional competitions have been canceled.

Lunch: Boxed lunches will be provided, and attendees are invited to eat lunch in the Union food court.  

Civics Games Location:  
Student Union, Ballroom (Level 1) 
2200 East Kenwood Blvd 

Ancillary Room: Room 191, which has direct access to the Ballroom  

Parking: The closest parking lots are the Union Circle Surface Lot and Union Garage, which are both attached to the Student Union and accessible from Kenwood Boulevard. Another nearby lot is Mellancamp Hall Surface Lot, 2442 E Kenwood Blvd. 

Parking Passes: Upon entering a campus lot, pull ticket from the entrance gate. Parking passes will be provided to attendees at the event for validation upon exit. Instructions are as follows:  

  1. Parking passes will be provided in the form of a QR Code.  
  2. Go to the exit gate — not the pay station — upon exiting the parking garage. Insert ticket into the slot only area.  
  3. When prompted, scan parking pass.  
  4. Gate should open.
