I’m a data and investigations journalist seeking full-time employment. Over the past decade, my work has often focused on revealing waste, corruption or abuse of the public trust in government institutions. Some of my investigations have exposed neglect and dubious practices in law enforcement, prompting immediate changes in policies and crime-fighting strategies. Other stories have led to public hearings, legislation and audits. I am experienced at cultivating sources in secretive institutions, obtaining bombshell records from government agencies, analyzing vast databases and bringing stories to life with community voices. My editors in California and Wisconsin have commended my stream of ideas, story production and self-driven work ethic. I’ve worked in small and large newsrooms, and remotely. In addition to written stories, I’ve produced journalism for broadcast and digital audiences. I have appeared numerous times on live radio and television programs, and I have frequently developed interactive charts, maps and databases to accompany written investigations. I appreciate work that utilizes my existing talents while challenging me to grow professionally.
