The Wisconsin College Media Association (WCMA), part of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation (WNAF), was founded in 2015 to foster and support student news media in Wisconsin’s colleges, universities and technical schools.
The WNA Foundation, in partnership with the National Newspaper Association Foundation, sends one Wisconsin college journalist each spring to Washington, D.C., for a two-day fellowship studying a national issue with implications in America’s hometowns.
WNA Foundation Scholarships are intended to help provide support to college students with a solid interest in the newspaper industry. Students with interests in reporting, editing, advertising, photography, graphics, circulation, marketing or any other aspect of newspaper operations are encouraged to apply.
The WNA Foundation’s summer internship program offers financial support to newspapers seeking to hire an intern and also assists in placing top-notch journalism students with some of the state’s most progressive news businesses.
The Wisconsin College Media Association Better Newspaper Contest is open to all active campus newspapers covering Wisconsin public and private college and university campuses.
